OmniCheck.com
Our Philosophy
Why OmniCheck.com belongs in the PremiumBrands collection, and how I think about choosing a name to build on.
PremiumBrands exists because I care about the name a founder chooses to build on. I buy names that I would consider using myself, and I offer the ones I have not built on yet through PremiumBrands.com. OmniCheck.com fits that approach: a practical action inside a company name with room for a larger ambition. The choice interests me before there is a finished product attached to it.
The decision behind Newswire.com
My experience with names came through building an operating business. In 2007, I acquired the press release distribution business running on i-Newswire.com. I secured iNewswire.com in 2013. In February 2015, after more than a year of negotiating and consulting SEO professionals before making the change, I moved the business to Newswire.com.
The morning of that switch, a prospect told one of our sales agents, “Oh yeah, Newswire.com. I’ve heard of you guys.” That could not have been true of our business under that name. I remember it because the business and the team had not become different overnight. The way we could introduce the business had changed. The name gave us a different starting point for a conversation we were already doing the work to earn.
That experience shaped the questions I ask when considering a domain. Would I be comfortable putting it on a proposal? Would I want the team using it in their email addresses? Could I keep using it if the business became larger than the first plan? Those are concrete decisions about building, rather than a theory about how a string of letters should perform.
Why I bought PremiumBrands.com
I bought PremiumBrands.com before I had a plan for it. Premium names matter to me, and I knew waiting would probably mean losing the chance to use this one. By now, it could belong to someone building on it, in which case it would most likely no longer be available. I wanted the choice to build on it myself.
That is also why my test for a name is simple: would I build on this? A domain has to make sense as the starting point of an actual company, something I could say aloud while explaining the work. OmniCheck meets that test for a founder who wants to bring fragmented checking tasks into a clear product. The attraction is the company it gives that founder room to describe, beyond one narrow feature.
Starting before the plan is complete
AI interests me because it gives more people a practical way to turn an idea into a working product. My outlook is that, as useful software becomes easier to reproduce, a recognizable name becomes one of the parts of a company that is harder to copy. A founder can improve a product every week while giving those improvements the same identity and address.
Through OnlineBusiness.com, my work also includes the strategy and development side of building online businesses. That background keeps the naming question grounded in the work after the choice. A name needs to fit the founder’s direction, the way the company presents itself and the business they actually want to run.
The fix-it-later mindset asks a founder to settle on an identity now and upgrade after the company has made it. By then the old name may already be in email addresses, product screens, documents and the conversations customers have with the team. Changing it means changing those things too, if the intended name is still available. I prefer to consider that decision while there is still room to choose.
A great name won’t save a bad business. The team still has to build something useful, serve people well and make good decisions. I see the name as a head start that the work can grow into.
Two ways to begin
If OmniCheck.com fits what you want to build, send an inquiry through PremiumBrands.com and describe the direction you have in mind. If another name is the right one and it is not in the collection, the same conversation can begin with acquisition help for that name. I care about finding the identity a founder wants to keep using as the business grows. A premium .com is a trust shortcut.
A focused product. The OmniCheck name.
